Christmas Detox Reviver

kevin, natural, health

I haven't perfected the perfectly dry martini but I do believe I've arrived at a most satisfactory recipe for what I'm going to call - THE CHRISTMAS REVIVER

Some of you will recognize this drink - I've used it for many years as a detox -assisting those wanting to come off caffeine (whether tea or coffee).

I'm pleased to say that after many attempts at finding the 'correct proportions' - I've perfected a drink with just a hint of spice and everything nice - an aroma that gets up your nose, nicely - and a bit of bite to keep you coming back.

So here you are - keep a six pack in the fridge for the 'designated driver.'

The Christmas Reviver
• 6 cups of water
• 6 tsp of honey
• Sprig of Mint
• Juice of 1 med sized lime
• 6 slices of ginger (size of a 20 cent piece and as thick as the knife blade)

- Put the water and ginger slices into a medium sized pot.
- Cover and bring to a boil - turn down to a very low heat and let simmer for 15 minutes
- Turn off heat and add the lime juice and honey.
- Stir gently - cover and let stand for 1 hour.

Note: At this point the ambrosia will be still be quite warm/hot and may be consumed as a 'hot beverage.'

- For a cool and most refreshing drink may I suggest that you wait until the beverage has cooled - then decant it into a suitable container - drop in a sprig of mint and refrigerate over night.

- Serve over crushed or cracked ice.
